Our arugula is coming to its end, so in a bid to spark one last surge of growth, we trimmed it back substantially. Over coffee and the morning newspaper, I picked the leaves from the stalks and fought the urge to eat them as I went along. As a result, we’ll eat like kings tonight.
We’ve had a bumper crop of arugula lately (YAY!), but I’m happy the romaine and Bibb are catching up. They should be ready by the weekend. This is the first year I’ve used my raised bed on the back deck, and boy does it make a difference … no unwanted nibbles from the bunnies.
Yummy goodness this spring: arugula, Bibb lettuce, and thyme.
